TERRELL, TEXAS—November 25, 2014 — As its name suggests, UNIFIED POWER continues to “unify” the best critical power service companies in the nation under one fast-growing brand. This week, the company finalized the purchase of Dallas, TX based Power Protection Services, LLC.
Power Protection Services, also known as PPS, has strong customer relationships throughout Texas and Southern California. Michael Stephens and Dennis Hicks started the company in 2003 and grew their business through relentless focus on serving their customers’ critical power needs.
Michael Stephens has joined Unified Power and will assume responsibility for the company’s Field Service Organization. Dennis Hicks will become an Independent Sales Rep for the company.
“Like Unified Power, PPS has grown via a strong commitment to its customers and employees. We share the same values and the same long-term approach to building a business” said Chris Roach, Unified Power’s President and Chief Operating Officer.
In 2011, Chicago, IL based Pfingsten Partners, LLC recognized a market opportunity in the critical power services market. At that time, Fortune 500 corporations faced two choices when addressing their national critical power infrastructure maintenance requirements; manage multiple OEM service teams at a price premium, or manage multiple regional independent service partners across the country.
Pfingsten’s vision was to bring together the nation’s best critical power services companies under one unified brand. The Unified Power brand began in January 2011 when Pfingsten purchased On Computer Services; a national critical power service company based in Terrell, TX. Other companies under the Unified Power brand include Baltimore, MD based Power Protection Unlimited, Sun Sales Company of Albuquerque, NM, and UPSCO of Glenmont, OH.
The strategy has been well received by the market. Today, Unified Power is the premier national service provider to more than 2,000 customers, employs service and support staff across the nation, and continues to achieve double-digit growth; all while maintaining a world-class service quality rating from its clients. The company is well capitalized and is aggressively seeking to acquire other customer-focused, critical power service companies.
